Review Managers

Feature comparison

Review tools compared, feature by feature

Four types of tool, eight feature categories. The grid shows what each type usually includes, so you can narrow your shortlist before you sit through a single demo.

This page includes a clearly marked partner slot for review-management software; we may earn a commission if you use it, and that does not change how we describe or compare tool types. How we handle partner links.

The comparison grid

This grid compares types of product, not named vendors. Within each type, plans and features vary, and vendors add features often. Use it to decide which type to shortlist, then confirm every row that matters to you in a demo or trial.

Typical features by type of review tool. Individual products vary; confirm every row in a demo.

How to read it

  • All-in-one reputation suites cover the most rows, which is why they suit multi-location businesses. You may pay for modules you never use, and the full feature set is often on higher plans.
  • Listings-first tools are strongest where business details must stay accurate across many directories. Review features are often simpler.
  • Review-request tools focus on getting more recent reviews through email and text requests, usually triggered from the systems you already use. Monitoring beyond a few main sites may be limited.
  • Free platform tools work only for that platform's own reviews, but they are official, free and cover the jobs most single-location businesses need. See free tools first.

How these tools are usually priced

We don't list prices, because they change often and many vendors quote individually. The common pricing models are worth knowing, though:

ModelWhat to watch for
Per location, per monthCosts scale with every new branch; check how a "location" is defined
Tiered plansText messaging, AI replies, integrations or reports may sit on higher tiers
Usage-based messagingText-message requests can carry per-message charges on top of the plan
Annual contractsAuto-renewal dates, cancellation notice periods and setup fees

Match the type to your situation

Your situationStart by looking at
One location, few reviews, one main platformFree platform tools plus a simple, consistent request habit
One or two locations, reviews arriving too slowlyA review-request tool connected to your booking or sales system
Many locations, details changing oftenA listings-first tool or a suite with strong listings features
Many locations across several platforms, a team replyingAn all-in-one suite with user roles and approval steps
Regulated work such as healthcare or legal servicesAny type, but check privacy terms and reply approval workflows closely

Things the grid can't show

  • Data ownership. Can you export your review history and customer lists if you leave?
  • Compliance defaults. Does the request flow send every customer the same link, or does it nudge you toward filtering unhappy customers out?
  • Support. Who helps with setup, and how quickly do they respond?
  • Platform access. Which sites are connected through official channels, and which are monitored less directly?

Turn these into vendor questions with the how-to-choose checklist.
